Intro: The Mall at New Desperation Isle

The Mall at New Desperation Isle hosts many of Second Life's best kink and fetish designers. You'll find cuffs, collars, latex, BDSM furniture, and just about anything else you might need in your explorations on the isle and beyond. Residents can take advantage of our Money Tree (on the bottom floor) or occasional promotional deals advertised at the welcome area as some easy ways to make some extra money!

Welcome Area

All visitors to the isle land in our welcome area, an elevated platform in the center of the mall. The welcome area has directories to help visitors find their way around the island, as well as helpful tips about improving your experience on the island, and even some free sex toys and information on how to equip your avatar with the best free stuff in Second Life. Once you're ready to shop or explore, a conveniently-placed teleporter will get you where you need to go. Don't forget touch the Information Group kiosk so you can be notified of events and additions in the future, and be sure to check for promotions and announcements.

ATMs

If you need to recharge your Linden balance or manage your accounts at SLExchange or OnRez, stop by the ATMs on the second level of the mall, just below the welcome area. There's also a quick-access teleporter to the lower level (where the Money Tree awaits), and a standard teleporter to take you anywhere else on the island.

Rental Information

The mall has been filled to near capacity since the island's opening in early October 2007, just like its predecessor on the original Desperation Isle. The mall currently houses about 60 of Second Life's top fetish designers, and benefits from lots of repeat customers. New Desperation Isle is a dark BDSM roleplaying area whose guests are mostly D/s practitioners and fetishists from Germany, France, Scandinavia, and the USA. New Desperation Isle is a mature, privately-owned sim, and as of this writing we get between 12-19K of real traffic (no campers, no bots)- depending on the day of the week, and we run classifieds and other forms of advertising to keep new folks coming in.

For rental rates and rules, please see the posting at the Desperation Isle Estates blog.
